Plamer’s Cocoa Butter Lotion with Vitamin E

The bottle says it ‘heals and softens rough dry skin along with smooths marks and tones skin.
I love this lotion, I mainly use it on my face. Occasionally I do head to toe with it. It is a somewhat expensive at three something for oz bottle. The stores are always running out of it, I guess I am not the only one that likes it.
It absorbs into the skin good. It does leave your skin a little slick due to the mineral oil in it, but it is nothing that you can’t handle. The scent is not very strong and standard for cocoa butter lotions, I would like to be a bit stronger than it is. Unless it is on your face you won’t smell it until it is in under your nose.
As I mentioned in the Coppertone review it mixes with other stuff well.

Coppertone Sunless Tanning Lotion Color:Light/Medium

I was excited when a tan became available in a bottle, not only because the risk of cancer from to much sun exposer but for the winter time when sun bathing is not an option. Coppertone’s sunless tanning lotion is one of my favorites.
It has dual-chambers, one is filled with a dark brown-orange colored lotion and the other with a white color lotion. There is one pump lever that pumps both lotions at the same time. Than you mix them in your hands. I have found that it does not matter if the lotions come out exactly even.
It takes thirty minutes for the full color to develop. The directions say it can stain clothes or any material within this time. I have waited as little as ten minutes to get dressed and did not get any stains. I would not recommend hurry like that if you are going to wear white.
If you want to lighten the color a little, add some regular lotion to it before its mixed. I recommend Palmer’s Coca Butter Formula with vitamin E. it is a good idea to do this when ever you are using it on your face, other wise it might in up too dark. the same problem happens if you apply it directly to knees, elbows and ankles.
If color is to dark for you just wash your self ASAP and it will fade a little. The ‘tan’ will start to fade naturally in about week and a half.

Clean&Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Face Wash

I received this 1oz Morning Burst Face Wash as a free sample. The full size bottle is 5oz. They call it Morning Burst because of the “Bursting Beads” in it. The beads are supposedly vitamin enriched. I say supposedly because I did not test the “Bursting Beads”. That would be cool if I could. As the beads dissolve they release a fragrance that is supposed to wakes you up. It doesn’t really wake me up, but I like the fragrance anyways. It says the fragrance is Lemongrass & Fruit Extracts.
The “Bursting Beads” also gently scrub your face. I like the beads better than most other face exfoliatants, they are gentle on your skin. So gentle you can use them everyday, unlike other exfolaiting products. It leaves your skin so soft you will think you already have lotion on, when you don’t.
It is an oil-free formula, so you don’t have to worry about that.

Manic Panic Semi-permanent Hair Dye

Tish & Snooky’s NYC Inc. Manic Panic Hair Dye Cream Formula are in the Classic 4oz Tub (price $10.50). “Live fast and dye your hair”

Directions for use: wash hair with a “pH Acid Balanced” shampoo and towel dry hair. apply the dye with a tint brush (or a paint brush, that is what I used). be sure to to keep away for the scalp ( about 1/2″). apply until hair is saturated. take a comb you do care about and comb your hair until the dye gets frothy. Leave it in for at least 5 minutes. the bottle says the maximum time should be 15 minutes.
Dye Color Tiger Lily: The bottle says it works best on pre-lightened hair, but I did not pre-lighten my hair since it is blonde color naturally. I even left it in a longer than the max of 15 minutes. After I rinsed it out and let my hair dye I could see that the color did not take at all. I also tried it on a friends hair and she has ‘light blonde’, but the results were the same. I think I did not have the right pH shampoo.
Dye Color AfterMidnight Blue: The Manic Panic website says this color is their most famous and comes in all the hair color formulas: Classic cream, Amplified cream, and Gels. I loved the way this color came out. because I did not bleach my hair first it was darker than then how it looks in the bottle. To me that made it better. when I was in dim lit room my hair looks blue-black, but when the light was behind me you you see the blue really good. The only thing that is somewhat bad is when is fades out it turns green. just shampoo the heck out of your hair when it starts turning green.
Dye Color Mystic Heather: I had the same problem with this color as I did with the Tiger Lily. It just did not want to take. I tried this color on my friend as well, and it did not work on her either.
Bottom line, if you are want a light color you have to pre-lighten your hair. Watch out for bleeding, especially after you’ve shampooed it. Use towels that you are okay with getting dye on. at least the bleeding stops after a few days.
I plan on trying the other formulas (Amplified Cream, and Gel). This is a fun product that I plan on using again and again.

Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine (leave-in)

Anyone with frizzy hair understands how hard it can be to tame (especially when it is humid). There are many products available, and I have tried almost all of them.
Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine is at the top of my list of favorite hair care products. It is there for a reason, it works. It is available at Wal-mart’s, K mart’s, pretty much anywhere the Garnier Fructis brand is sold. The pride ranges from $3.00 to $4.00 per bottle.

I will admit the only reason I tried it in the first place is because of the bottle (5.1 oz). Its ball shape is interesting, and comfortable in your hand.
In the directions it says “dispense one pump of serum etc…”, usually that means at least two pumps for my thick hair. However one is plenty, heck one full pump is almost too much. This product can be applied to wet or dry hair (works as good either way). It is light and does not leave your feeling greasy, I am also impressed by how long it lasts. Usually until the next time you shampoo your hair.
Because you do not have to use a lot of it that 5.1oz bottle lasts me a while. Most of the time I go through a bottle a month, and that is with three people using it almost everyday.
Sleek & Shine will make your hair so soft and smooth you will be playing with your hair all day. People will notice the nice mellow scent that it gives your hair. I always have people asking what I use.

Lipton Green Tea Varieties

It is near impossible for you not to know that flavoniod antioxidants are good for you, and one of the easiest ways to get them is by drinking green tea. Green tea naturally contains those protective antioxidants that help your body fight against free radical cells, but the sometimes-bitter flavor is not everyone’s cup of tea, pun intended.
Lipton Green Tea with Orange, Passion fruit and Jasmine has a nice mellow fruit flavor and all the good flavors of the green tea without the bitterness. I was instantly addicted. When I went to the grocery store, I was delighted to find that Lipton had other flavors that sounded as tasty as the one I had already tried. I got the sample box that has a few of each flavor in it; flavors in sample box are Honey, Lemon Ginseng, Mixed Berry, Mint, Cranberry Pomegranate and Orange, Passion Fruit & Jasmine. All of these teas have at least 60mg of antioxidants per serving (a serving is one tea bag).
I will start with the Lemon Ginseng, because I do not like it. Its listed ingredients are green tea, natural lemon flavor, panax ginseng, and lemon grass. I think its the ginseng that gives this one a bad flavor. If you like Ginseng you will like this flavor.
The other one I did not like is the Mint, but I have never really liked mint anyways. However, I asked someone that likes mint to taste it and tell me what they think. They liked it, saying it wasn’t to strong (or weak). Ingredients: green tea, spearmint leaves, peppermint leaves, and lemon grass. Not very many ingredients but it packs a lot of flavor/
The Mixed Berry… This one is great. I love it. It tastes like fruit punch. Its ingredients are green tea, natural cherry, raspberry, blueberry, and strawberry flavors, does that sound good or what.
The Honey was good; This flavor of tea is great for those sick days. The chamomile really helps you relax while the honey sooths your throat. Ingredients: green tea, orange peel, chamomile, lemon grass, licorice root, roasted chicory root, and natural honey flavor.
The Cranberry Pomegranate (a new flavor): I am not into cranberry but I liked this tea. Cranberries and pomegranate go good together; the flavor drives your taste buds wild. Ingredients: (of course) green tea, hibiscus flowers, chamomile flowers, cinnamon, citric acid (for tartness), licorice root, lemon grass, and roasted chicory root.
Next, I want to try the new Lipton Pyramid teas, and see if the new pyramid shaped bag really makes a more flavorful tea during the seeping process

Renting Movies Through the Mail

Renting movies (and games) through the mail has become a money maker for companies offering the service. The perks for renting movies through the mail are No Late Fees, and you can browse and added movies at your leisure, 24 hours a day.
Netflix’s :(14-day Free Trial)Is the oldest and largest online movie rental service, launching its subscription service in 1999.
I have been a Netflix.com customer since June of 2006. I have the two-at-a-time (unlimited) plan for 14.02 a month, which is with tax. The other plans available are:
One at-a-time (2 -a- month) for $4.99,
one at-a-time
(Unlimited) for $8.99,
Three at-a-time (Unlimited) for $16.99,
Four at-a-time (Unlimited) for $23.99,
Five at-a-time (Unlimited) for $29.99,
Eight at-a-time
(Unlimited) for $47.99.
They have a big selection of movies, all the older movie I wanted to see were there (90,000 DVD titles plus a growing library of over 5,000 full-length movies and television episodes that are available for instant watching on their PCs).
I do not really bother looking at the “recommendations” so I don’t know how good they are. To get good recommendations you have to rate the movies you have already watched.
In the last few months, netflix.com has made its website easier to navigate and put movies in your queue. Before when you clicked the add button it would take you to your queue page so you had to back track to find where you were. Now a second window in the main window opens up saying the movie has been added, along with other movies that have the same actors in it or the same directors and so on. Just close that second window and your still where you were.
The DVD’s seem to be in good shape, there has only been one that was messed up. However, I could still watch it. You can request a new one if It’s unwatchable.
I get between 8 and 11 movies a month; I’ll say an average of nine so that works out to 1.78 per rental. That’s not bad. One month I only got six due to bad weather around my state, so I guess I can’t blame them. The speed of DVD arriving will depend on how close to a shipping center you are. Which are in big cities, so if you live in a small town you will more then likely average 8 to 11 like me. Any more then that is gravy. I have been collecting the ads that are on the flap that you tear off the envelope when opening it. They are mostly for new movies coming out or new TV shows. Every now and then they will be for some kind of electronics.
You can sign up to pick recommendations for people, and win prizes if you are good at it. I am not sure of the details I just scanned through it.
You have to have a credit or debt card to pay for it (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). Sorry, no checks or money orders. Billing is done automatically; mine is withdrawn on the eighth of every month. I started my membership on the 15th of a month so I assume that they bill everyone at the beginning of the month.
If you are wondering how they stop people from stealing their DVD’s it is simple. If you “lose” more then ten DVDs they cancel your account.
I do not know how their customer service people are I have not had a reason to deal with them. To me that is a good thing. A final note, you can get DVDs or Blue Ray format, and soon (June 2007) you will be able to watch the movies on to your PC through the website. DVD’s are also for sale on the website for as low as 5.99 with a 100% guarantee.
Queue is a word I have never heard so I looked it up,
Queue: 1: a pigtail 2: a line, as of persons waiting to be served.
That is A new wrinkle in my brain.
BlockBusterOnline :(14-day Free Trial)
A perk that Netflix’s does not have is instead of mailing the DVD back you can take them to a participating Block Buster Store for a free DVD or Game rental. You have to have a membership with the store to do that, and follow the store rental policies. The free movie does not count towards as one of your movies being mail, so you should still get three or however many your plan has.
I was not expecting to pay anything right then but blockbuster charged my debt card $10.98. There was nothing on the sign up page that said they were charging me, I found out days later when I was checking my account balance for something else. That was not cool.
Don’t think just because a Block Buster store is listed on the website as a participating store, that it is, It may not even be open. I thought the one in my town was open and the website had it listed as open. After I printed my e-coupon to use, I found the store had been closed since Oct. 2006. From the outside, passing by it looked open so I assumed it was. I assumed wrong. So, now all my e-coupons are worthless, along with being able to use the movie envelopes for free rentals. (Make sure you have a Block Buster Store before you signup)
The same day I signed up, I filled my queue up so they could start sending movies right away. I waited and waited, for a week and a half for the first set of movies come in the mail. And, there was only two. I sent them back in two days, still waiting for the third movie from the first set. Almost two weeks go by until I got any more movies. Again, only two arrived and one of them is the one that should have been in the first set.
At this point, there was five days until I had to cancel or pay for another month. By now, I knew I was not going continue my subscription. You must cancel at least one day before your next bill date, to insure that your card does not get charged. That is what I did. Canceled on the 24th (when my next bill date would have been on the 25th ). Those movies arrived much quicker then the rest.
When the second set of movies took so long I had emailed customer service about the one movie not getting here and that the Block Buster Store here wasn’t open and they should take it off the website. I also asked if they were going to offer me anything for the inconvenience. I felt and still feel that they should be up to date when it comes to the stores on the website. I would not have even wasted my time if I knew that the Block Buster Store here was closed. They responded with nonsense, acting like I didn’t just tell them I was not happy. The store here that closed is still on the website as open for business. The next time I emailed customer service was to find out when I needed to cancel by so I would not get charged, in the response to that I got offered some of the other plans at a discounted price for three months. But at the speed they were coming it was not worth it.
When you cancel they have a spot to write feedback. In the space provided, I typed what I had to say (not filling the box). There seemed to be more room to write but when I clicked submit it said to keep it under 150 characters. Then why do they give you room to write a novel but limit you to 150 characters? I guess they don’t really care why you are canceling.
To sum it up, if you have a Block Buster Store that is open, this could be a great deal. You may get your movies faster then I did. So, it is up to you is you want to try it.

Intelliflix: (Risk-Free Trial) Launched in 2004 (formerly DVDBarn), at intellifix you can rent both Video Games and Movies. Mature Movies are available, however age verification is required. Parental controls are also available. After reading what some subscribers have to say about Intelliflix, I really did not want to try them.
Intelliflix website interface is similar netflix’s interface (not nearly as good). You can view and modify your personal details and account status in the “your account” section.
The “Browse” link will take you to a selection window with movie names (cover picture), there are 6 titles per row. Rows are stacked and categorized: new releases, comedy movies, drama movies and games. There is a column for advanced movie categories, almost 2 dozen of them. Advance categories include: coming soon, AFI top 100 films and Mature-adult films. In the same row on the bottom it shows video game categories and platforms.
Click on any icon and it will take you to a movie synopsis page as well as user and editor reviews. Clicking on a category will take you to an alphabetically sorted list of titles for that category, a brief description, it’s star ratings and titles availability. You can also use the search field on the top of every browse page.
Wait time between shipments varies, an average of six days (depends on where you live). Though, my average is better than most, according to some reviews I have read. I never contacted customer service, though those that have say it takes forever to get a response, if you get one at all.
Gameznflix :(14-day Free Trial) Subscriber to Gameznflix can rent both Games ( for: XBOX 360, XBOX, PS3, PS2, PS1, Wii & GameCube) and Movies.
