Universal Inkjet Refill Kit

These ink refill kits are available almost everywhere. I got this one at Wal-Mart.

ink kit

It was 19.99 plus tax. The process of refilling the ink is easy, it may take once or twice to get it down to a science, but it is easy enough for anyone to do. I love being able to refill my ink. It saves a lot of money. This kit also comes with a bottle of point head cleaner, which comes in handy for making the cartridges last longer. It also has everything you need to refill, like the injector and needle. The colors are Cyan (blue), Magenta (pink), and Yellow. The instruction booklet has instructions for how to refill any brand of cartridges. They do have just a ‘black ink refill kit’, I would recommend both of the kits.
A word of warning, make sure you close the lids tight, as you can see in the picture the blue color leaked. However I am glad I saved the cardboard holder for the inks, that soaked up a lot of what spilled. What you see is the bulk of the mess, but I am almost out of Cyan (blue) now.

Wal-Mart’s Ship-to-Store

I just ordered a space heater from wal-mart.com and chose the ship-to-store option. I saved 8.00 bucks on the shipping because it is free with that option. This is something new for Wal-Mart, and could be good for those that live in smaller towns, since stores in bigger cities may have a better selection. I will let you know how long it takes to get the “come pick it up’ email, and how smoothly it goes, since I myself may not be picking it up. I put my Boyfriend as someone that can pick it up.
The website says it should take 7 to 10 days for that to happen, but I hope it happens sooner. That is along time when you are waiting for something that could possibly go and get at another store

‘Hair Mystery’ Sample Update

I tried the sample as I said I was going to, and I really liked it. I wish Head & Shoulder’s would tell you in the sample what kind it is so I can go buy some. Since the sample was so big I was able to stretch it for two washing. I will warn you that they are not kidding on the bottle when they say “avoid eyes, etc.”. I got some just on the rim of my nose and I thought I was going to die. I bet it would be worse in an eye.
I wouldn’t say it made my hair soft, more smooth than soft. If that makes any sense to you. I did not put anything else in my hair so I could really see/feel how it work in my hair. It did a good job taming my frizzy hairs, which hardly any shampoo and conditioner can do.
The feeling lasts a long period too, I could see a difference in my morning hair after using this product. The scent is nothing to brag about, they could make it smell better. However I do see the advantage in keeping the scent neutral so men and women can use it. No man wants to smell like flowers (ok maybe some do,lol).
I would like to try all the other new shampoos and conditioners from Head & Shoulders brand.

Tide with Febreze (spring & Renewal)

I first got to try the new Tide with Febreze a few months ago, I was sent a sample. I cannot believe that Febreze hasn’t been put in laundry soap already, the idea is one of those “duh” kind of things.
Since I only had enough for one load (maybe two) I decided to wash my sheets and blanket. The whole time they were washing, I could smell the Febreze. It does not smell exactly like the Febreze in the spray bottles, but I still like it. I did not add any fabric softener to this load so I could smell the new soap and see how it works on its own. The scent held up well through the dryer, while falling asleep all I could smell was Febreze. I will have to wait and see how long the scent last.
I would use caution if you are sensitive to perfumed stuff, it may irritate your skin or nose.
Check out Tide’s “Load of Hope” program.

Clairol ’s - A Touch of Sun

comes in a 4.7 fl oz bottle. It adds highlights to your hair with the sun or a blow dryer.

You spray it on hair where you want highlights, than you can just style as usual or use a blow dryer to make the highlights appear.
you can do your whole head or streaks, and it is temporary enough that you can make mistakes. Because, learning where to put the streaks where they look good can be hard. This product typically lightens two shades per application.
It is great for the winter months when you want natural looking highlights but do not want to be outside. I would recommend it to anyone wanting highlights without harshly coloring their hair. It is not recommended for colored hair, it could make it reddish.

Mystery Product Sample- what is it?

Before it was revealed on Ellen’s show, I read that most of the people thought it was a version of the Head & Shoulders brand.
It appears they were right. Head & Shoulders was indeed the mystery shampoo & conditioner! I just got my sample yesterday. I am impressed with the size of the samples, 0.34 Fl OZ x2. I will be trying the samples today.
I believe that they are still sending out samples at, www.hairmystery.com

Roasted Nut Crunch Bars (Almond Crunch) by Nature Valley

There are six bars in a box. They have Almonds (duh), Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds.

snack1

I have tried a few of Nature Valley’s snack bars and like all of them, so when I seen a new mixture on the shelves I had to try it. I had high expectations, considering how good the others are. The ingredients are simple, aside from the nuts I already mentioned there is just sugar, corn syrup and salt. In that order. I do not really like the fact that it has corn syrup in it, but I can live with it.
The flavor is all from the nuts, so if you do not like these kinds of nuts you will not want to eat this snack bar. They taste great, for being so simple.
They would be great and tasty way for someone to add Protein to their diet, because they are packing 7 grams of protein per bar (thanks to the nuts).
Added Bonus: If you collect “box tops for education”, they have official coupons on each box.
Note: not meal replacement bars.

St. Ives Whipped Silk lotion (Extra Dry Skin Formula)

lotion

I bought this St. Ives lotion in travel size while on vacation. I pick it because I had never tried it, and I admit I tested it before I bought it. It was the first one I “tested”, so no harm done.
It is creamy and smooth. I love the star shaped dispenser hole, it makes it look so pretty. And, looks count for a lot. Because its ‘whipped’ it is so fluffy, when squeezed out it looks like frosting, if it had any real scent I might be tempted to eat it. The bottle says the scent is “soft and gentle” but I say it is barely there. However the lotion makes up for the lack of scent.
This lotion is defiantly a great winter time lotion, keeping skin moisturized and healthy all winter so it is ready for summer.

Brush-Ups (by Oral B)

brushup2

These are textured teeth wipes, that fits on your finger so you can use that finger like a tooth brush.

brushup1

There are 12 in a box, but the Brush-Ups themselves are individually wrapped in packages small enough to carry the almost the whole box in a purse. The packages are tough enough to withstand being in a purse for extended period of time and still keep the ‘Brush-Ups’ sanitary.
The flavor is “mint burst”, I did not really care for it but that is because I do not like mint. However it wasn’t that bad, it gets better after your done and it fades a little. The design needs a little modification, because the bottom half is wasted unless you use your other hand or take it off to use the bottom.
All-in-all it is a great product, especially for people that do not like chewing gum but want to ‘clean’ their teeth and quickly clean the plaque off of your teeth.
